The Black Bay is one of the newer additions to the Tudor family of watches and it became the third piece of their heritage collection, which started with a chronograph and later an alarm watch. There are a number of Tudor’s historical characteristics seen in the Black Bay, like gilt lettering and a rose dial. In addition, the model features a big crown with snowflake hands, which used to be a trademark feature for Tudor. However, the Black Bay isn’t a reincarnation of any particular dive watch from the past; instead, it serves as a tribute to the best features of Tudor’s dive watches from the twentieth century.

In the 2000s, Tudor debuted different versions of the Black Bay: the Black, Bronze, Dark, 36, Steel, Chronograph, Steel and Gold, 41, and two special edition models, the Bronze Blue and Bronze One. Tudor continued to release more iterations of the model through 2018 and 2019, some drawing inspiration from Rolex releases. Tudor has released two watches for the One Watch auction, and continues to unveil striking, unique dive watches that are excellent additions for those starting or continuing their watch collection.
