About IWC Watches
Although IWC changed hands a few times, their leaders all had an innovative spirit that propelled the brand into new firsts. Early on, IWC formed the first watches with a digital hour and minutes display called the Pallweber system. Then, they introduced the first movements specifically designed for wristwatches: the 75 and 76 calibers. In the decades to follow, they would begin to release some of their most iconic models including the Special Pilot's Watch, Portuguese, and Big Pilot’s Watch, as well as military watches.
IWC’s most iconic creation includes the the first Pilot's Watch Mark 11. In the decades after, IWC released the Ingenieur, Aquatimer, Portofino, and limited edition II Destriero Scafusia. When IWC became part of Richemont Group, the Big Pilot, Aquatimer, and Ingenieur models expanded. Most recently, IWC released the Top Gun and the IWC Vintage Collection.
Today, IWC continues to embody its founder's spirit of innovation. In 2018, they unveiled a state-of-the-art online customization tool for the Ingenieur Chronograph. The launch marked the brand's first foray into built-to-order watches.
